Prologue : Pre-departure

In about 53hours time, I will be embarking on my exchange trip. I will be going to Vienna School of Economics and Business Administration for my exchange. But before that, I will be travelling around Europe with my buddy. In an effort to help me remember and document this once-in-a-lifetime trip, I will try to log down every part of my journey and experiences in this blog! So stay tuned if you want to find out what I'm doing, lol.

I have sort of a mixed feeling now, half excited and half nervous. It'll be the first time I'm going somewhere so far away by myself and for such a long time. Firstly I'm excited because I'm gonna tour Europe, getting to see all the magnificent cities that I use to see on TV or books. The thought of the freedom and independence is exciting too!

However, I've been told by many people, and read everywhere that Europe can be a dangerous place. Pickpockets, robbers, cheats etc... It's only until then when I realized just how safe Singapore is! You do not have to worry about pickpockets in Orchard Road, or on the overcrowded MRT. We can go out and walk/jog in the middle of the night without fear. Even though I've not yet left Singapore, I know that those activities are definitely a no-no overseas and I have to be super-alert to prevent pickpockets/cheats.

The feeling of stepping into the unknown is nerve wreaking too. A totally difference place, with difference people, different culture, different architecture, different food. This will definitely take some time to get adjusted to. But shouldn't be a problem though :)

Nonetheless, I'm still very Very VERY excited about this. I'm all packed up and ready to go! This will definitely be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I will cherish every moment of it while I'm there! I'll post something new once I've finish touring a city.
