Date of Visit: 17 - 18 September 2011
Bordeaux, France, is famous for their wine, only. It's a pretty small city, with nothing much to visit in the city center. Most people would actually try to go to the vineyards to visit the winery. Unfortunately, we weren't able to sign up for a tour to go to the vineyards, so ended up walking about in the city.
One of their attraction is this monument, with a fountain at the bottom. Think it's a war monument, or something...
There're more things going on in the city square. It happened to be Europe Day when we visit, so all the museums are free to enter. There're also some culture exhibitions going on. There's someone making wooden barrels right in front of us.
Other than that, there're the usual (and boring churches and museum stuff)... I'm so tried of them, I'm just gonna dump the photos here.
In the evening, we stumbled upon this street-artist acting as a clown. He is very very very funny!!! He's just running about the city square and disturbing innocent passer-bys. Heex was caught in the act too. He say Heex taking photos of him, so he glamorously posed for him. The clown was really hilarious to watch.
After the bump-in with the clown, we proceed to this place to take a night-shot. It's called Place de la Bourse. They made a special pool of water in front of it so that it looks really grand.
Finally, as part of the European day celebrations, there was a live concert held beside the river. Just a small concert, but we stayed a bit to watch. Rather cool as all the artist can play a lot of instruments.
On the whole, Bordeaux is a nice quiet town. Make sure you try to visit the vineyards if you are here, otherwise there are nothing much to do...
