Date of Visit: 28 August 2011
Here we are, in the capital city of England. London! And of course, we have to visit Her Majesty the Queen's home, the Buckingham Palace. Unfortunately, cameras were not allowed in the palace, thus we can only take photos outside the building.

(the road leading to the Buckingham Palace)

(outside the front of the palace)
Look familiar? Yes, they were here when they kissed, twice.

The fountain outside the front of the palace is under repairs, thus the scaffolding.

(Calvary patrols)

(HM the Queen's back courtyard)

(HM the Queen's garden, which I think may be bigger than our botanic gardens)

(not to forget the guards with the funny furry hats, too bad we can't get close to them, otherwise we can kajiao them like Mr. Bean)
Inside the palace, we visited the staterooms, which are used to host foreign dignitaries who are visiting the Buckingham Palace (GBP 16.50). There's only one word to describe everything: WOW.
Everything is elaborately decorated. The rooms are designed to impress any visitors to the palace, and it sure did. There are so many pieces of paintings, sculptures, and treasures displayed. Everything is so grand: gold here, jewels there, art masterpieces everywhere.
And of course, the centerpiece of this summer's openhouse, Kate Middleton's wedding dress + accessories. The dress itself looked pretty simple to me, but everything was designed and made to the finest of detail. There are many types of laces on it, and the tail end of the dress was designed so that it doesn't collapse and fold together when she move about.
Kate's tiera was borrowed to her from HM the Queen, and the earrings are gifts from her parents.
The tour took about an hour or two, guided by audio recordings.
